Bio

For over 25 years, Tyler Purcell has been focused on making visual media content for a wide range of clients. His background comes from broadcast television where he was the youngest director of live broadcasts (15 years old) on the east coast before moving from his home town of Boston, to Los Angeles to pursue a career in filmmaking. After several years in broadcast engineering, he moved into the creative realm as an editor and colorist for a national ad agency. Now he works as a freelance filmmaker, both on the production and post production side with an emphasis on storytelling, through cinematography/lighting and post production.

What Tyler Does

Cinematography

Tyler is a professionally trained cinematographer with experience in both film (Super 8, 16mm and 35mm) and Digital (Alexa, Dragon, F5/F55, Blackmagic Cinema) He's also a practiced Steadicam operator.

Editing

Tyler works primarily in post production using the industry standard tools; Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere CC and DaVinci Resolve. The latter of which he uses to color and finish.

Storytelling

Tyler is also a very practiced filmmaker; writing, producing and directing short documentaries and narrative films on a wide range of subjects. This is what makes him such a usefull person on productions and throughout the post process.
